About the Position

Berman Hebrew Academy Upper School, located in Rockville, Maryland, seeks a dynamic Jewish educator who is passionate about making a significant impact on Modern Orthodox Jewish Education by serving as the Rosh Kollel. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic Jewish educator, grounded in educational best practices, who seeks to form deep and meaningful relationships with students that inspire leadership and growth.

The opportunity to serve as the Rosh Kollel includes:

• Teaching our highest level Gemara shiur to the Kollel and Midrasha classes
• Collaborating with a talented and supportive team of colleagues to design lessons and units of study that are both challenging and inspirational, and that promote a love of, and commitment to, a life of Torah and tzionut 
• Taking an active leadership role in school programming that will contribute to deep connections with our students and enhance a sense of community for families in the Greater Washington DC area
• Partnering with local shuls and organizations to design interactive programs and learning opportunities rooted in Berman’s mission and vision
• Enjoying unique professional opportunities beyond the classroom by taking leadership on important duties assigned by the Upper School Principal

• Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing;
• Comfortable teaching ivrit b’ivrit (preferred);
