By Dana Lazar ’25 Girls Varsity Soccer Game: Sep. 26, 2024 Final Score: Berman 9, Waldorf 1
The Berman girls varsity soccer team achieved a record-breaking game against Waldorf last week. Entering into the second half, the Berman team had scored four goals — all by Shayel Layni ’25 — against the Hawks, the most the Berman team had scored all season. Layni and the rest of the team continued to be a force on the field throughout the second half. Layni proceeded to score two more goals, and three more goals were scored by Stella Lazar ’28, Ayelet Roth ’27, and Dana Lazar ’25. The team kept up the energy throughout the entire game and was aggressive on both sides of the field. In the end, Layni broke the all-time Berman scoring record, with a whopping six goals to finish the game, resulting in a 9-1 victory for the Cougars. Congratulations to the Berman girls varsity soccer team for their first win of the season! More to come!
